Wendy’s Whistles

One thing I know is that most people – Democrats, Independents, and Republicans – are not OK with unidentified masked men roaming the streets and randomly grabbing people for detention and or deportation. A whistle is a small solution, but right now it’s the biggest weapon we have to fight back.”

Ideally, state and local officials should have the right to arrest unidentified masked men for kidnapping if they grab people off the street. Illinois is suing the Trump administration for ‘illegal and retaliatory’ immigration enforcement tactics. As the case proceeds through the courts, individuals must remain vigilant and rely on their own resources.

Originating in Illinois, the tactic of using whistles to deter ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and alert others about ICE activity has proven effective. The strategy demonstrates that when a sufficient number of people blow whistles and simultaneously record the encounter, ICE personnel tend to withdraw. This method of deterrence is now being adopted across the nation .
